  • 7025, insulating spacer switcharoo?

I have seen a lot of tubes marked 7025 but I have been noticing something else about them for a while now. Many of these tubes, not all of them only have 2 insulating spacers just as if they were 12AX7's or ECC83. I thought that the 7025 had 3 insulating spacers to help reduce microphonics, one of the 7025's big selling points as I remember it.

Are we getting the old switcharoo here, or... Have the Russians and Chinese come up with some other approach equally successful in reducing microphonics.
... That's $1.00 for the chalk mark and $49,999.00 for knowing where to put it!

50 years ago 7025 meant something. Nowdays it is nothing more than a name they can stick on a 12AX7 for marketing purposes. Just as some sellers sell both 12AX7 and ECC83s, as if they were different tubes.

The 7025 was about reduced noise and hum.
