Hello, I have a Fender Stage 160 amp that has been having some issues. Lately it has been making a constant heart beating, thumping, or pounding sounds approx. every second and a half. Does not change with volume settings, only changes tone with other reverb, treble, and bass setting changes. Recently took apart, fuses look fine, nothing is loose. Any help would be appreciated, have had it for over 15 years, and have not had to do any maintenance work on it. (Never needed to open it up.) Thank you in advance.

Trying to isolate the problem, plug a cord into the FX return jack. Does the thumping stop?
What sorts of test equipment is available to you? What sorts of skills do you have regarding electronic servicing? -
No, when I plug into "PWR AMP IN" muffles a bit but can still hear it. Don't have much testing equipment, might just take it down to get looked at, but trying to save some money and time.Comment
