  • Crate Blue Voodoo 6212 volume problem

    Hello All,

    I'm new to this forum.

    I picked up a BV6212. Its a 60W crate all tube.

When I bought the amp used, I purchased the warranty, which was great, because a couple of the pots were bad so they were replaced.

Got the amp back, now its doing something really weird. On the overdrive channel, channel 2, even if the volume knob is all the way down, you can still hear and play through it, its like the knob is on .75.

Does anyone know why it would do this? The clean channel used to do the same thing, but now it silent at 0... Debating on returning the amp... Any suggestions?

.75? As in not quite up to 1?

A lot of pots (controls) don't go all the way to zero. SOmetimes you might have to get several to find one that does. But really, it is nothing wrong with the amp if that's all it is. AFter all, how often does anyone run the amp with the volume at NOTHING?Does hte amp actually do something that interferes with your play and enjoyment? Or does it just bug you that it does this, but other than that no big?

You know I got a Plexi Ri that does that and I just don't worry about it. I assume it has always been like that but I just happend to play it on zero one day and it had a little output. No biggie.
