Hey! Christmas are still far away!!!!

Although maybe being in the frigid North makes Santa´s sled and reindeer to appear there earlier, coming from Northern Finland ??

      Curious minds want to know.

We have Thanksgiving here mid Oct., much earlier than USA. So unfortunately, the Christmas blitz starts the day after halloween, whereas in the US they leave it til after Thanksgiving.
So we have been dealing with the barrage for over a month now, and the final two weeks is pretty much 'thank heaven it's almost over'.

Merry Christmas Bernie, sorry about your loss. All the best to you and yours for the holidays.

Oh they start stocking Christmas stuff in stores in October in the US.

They try and drag out the holidays as long as possible!

I can't tell you how often I feel like "the Holidays" are something that's happening to me instead of being a willing participant

I like the idea of pulling out the lights to put up on the house. Then a few of those bastard lights decide they had too much downtime chillaxing in the closet so they don’t want to work. Then I realize I am good with electrical things and it’s just god giving me an assignment to repair them. Then they work and are strung. Then a chunk of lights go out and up the ladder I go. Nothing like Christmas time in the desert.
When the going gets weird... The weird turn pro!

Money is what makes Christmas...as far as the stores are concerned...I either go to the stores as soon as they open in the morning or just before closing....that way I avoid being trampled to death......

The earliest I saw this year for a Christmas promotion was in late August.

That really doesn't surprise me....one of these days I expect to walk into Canadian Tire or Wall Mart in July and see Christmas decor out in the isles...

I recall noticing one of those ridiculous hallmark Christmas movies was on TV in either July or August. Not sure if that is early, or late.

That is Christmas in July, and my wife watches all of them, in her room.
While, I'm probably on the history channel.

My wife always gets a hankering for Christmas in July/August. Sometimes she even puts on Christmas music for a day or two. Fortunately (?) we have a pretty good selection (maybe twenty or twenty five CD's) so I don't have to listen to the worst of what passes for Christmas music on the radio. Usually Dean Martin, Nat, Bing or sometimes some Bach classical. I'm pretty much ok with that.
