The E.C. caps are most likely the cause of most of this. I missed those when replacing the electrolytic. The amp is as quiet as a mouse and now will burn it in for a while and see what happens...
Many thanks guys, will be back- I have to replace the factory mod of the diode network which was put in as a field notice to protect against speaker current when removing the speaker. Someone did a botch job of this one.
