Not sure EXACLTY which screws, but once I put ALL the pcb screws that mount the pcb to the sink, it worked.

Ok guys/gals... I have a pair of 515xt's that I bought a year and a half ago. the guy I bought them from took super great care of them and they were like new when I got them. I play in a band that is all acoustic instruments so we don't crank the sound. I've only used these maybe 5 or 6 times in the last year and a half.
Last night we were practicining and I noticed that as soon as I played my bass (with active electronics and eq) it was all distorted through the speakers. Really distorted. I went so far as to plug it right into the input of the speaker and got the same result. one speaker seems to be worse than the other one.
I can't imagine that I've blown the speakers, we don't play in venues that are very big so we never crank it past halfway, and I do have the switch set to music not mic.
I haven't torn into it yet but any help would be appreciated as to how to check if it's the amp or the speaker? How do I tear this thing apart?
Thanks guys/gals!
Don
UPDATE>>> I plugged my passive (fender jazz) bass directly into the input and it was clean. Clean until i cranked up to about halfway and I could hear the distortion start, sounded like a piece of something rattling around the speaker... otherwise it was pretty clean, but I imagine when I crank it with the input from the mixer that it's going to distort bad again....Last edited by drandle; 08-27-2017, 02:52 PM.

Before deciding on that, make sure. Disconnect the speaker from the amp and drive a different speaker from the amp. Does that speaker also distort?Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

If anyone want the JBL EON515XT or the EON315 Repaired then I have really specialise in these. I have done many and have all the kit to do the parametric test and thermal testing. This is service and repair so ALL parts that are stressed or that cause common failures are replaced. 4 day turn around. Bases near reading. Cheers,

help
Hi, I am currently trying to resurrect a JBL 515 that does not start any more (no light - no sound)
I have replaced Q370-Q373 and U604-u607 for new ones
I want to do the same for Q605 and Q606 (GBT, 20A 600V TRENCH W/DIODE) but I am not sure what item to choose.
Would someone help me and find the right item at Farnell ?
Thank you
Olivier
