  • Fender Super Champ footswitch...LEDs not lighting

A friend brought me his early 80's Fender Super Champ for servicing. I built the footswitch for him back when he bought it, but never put in the LEDs. It has always worked fine. I thought to finish the job now (35 years later) and install the LEDs. They don't light up...switching functions still work normally, somehow the -6.2 volts in the switch aren't causing the LEDs to light up. Grounds are intact, everything is wired according to the schematic. Any ideas? Thx!Click image for larger version

The test is very simple: put a voltmeter across the LED and report what the voltage is. Aren't the LEDs reversed?

Not sure in the actual build, the schematic shows them the proper way, ground is more positive than -6.2V

I'm talking about the actual build. On the schematic they are connected properly.

          thx for the advice
-6.2V to LED cathode, working fine now

So, what was the actual problem?

I had -6,2v connected to the LED anode...it wouldn't light up
