anyone know how to use a huntron

I just picked up a huntron tracker 1000. I was wondering if anyone knows where you can find the manual online I haven't had any luck finding it.

or if you know how to use one fill me in. I'm not sure the difference between the low high and medium settings and I'm not really sure what things should "look" like in the scope you know?

Have you googled after it?

Have you contacted the Huntron folks and asked for a manual?

I personally never needed one, but some techs love them. The Huntron folks just boxed up a common test circuit many people knocked together in their shops over the years. I bet if you googled something like oscilloscope component tester, you might find it. If you have a scope already, it is literally a half dozen parts to make the thing.

Point of looking for a build you own is that it would include screen patterns. They all work the same, cheap homades and expensive Huntrons.

well I picked a huntron 1000 and a tektronics 465 oscilloscope for 150$ which is good for where I live so I figured why pass it up, I did look into it before I bought it and found a circuit for it, they are pretty easy for sure.

I've searched google pretty hard and can't find anything I guess huntron will be my next step, hopefully they have it in a pdf file.

This page describes a rather simple "Tracker" type circuit similar to the one I've used for many years. It works quite well and has saved me many hours of troubleshoting time, especially when I was working on an unfamiliar circuit. As with any piece of test gear - you have toget to know its strengths and its limitations before it will really be useful. Also check out http://www.huntron.com/products/diagnostics.htm
There are diagrams showing various component signatures, as well as training videos for their latest models. The Huntron Mdl 1000 is obsolete, but the general troubleshooting & analysis procedures should be the same as for their latest one.
