  • EA Iamp300

    Morning all,
Anyone ever work on one of these little amps?
Weighs like five pounds, maybe, small, with mini external speaker cab.

SMPS is bad, don't know about the power amp yet.

I think I was fixing one of these. But isn't it based on BangOluffsen module (power amp integrated with SMPS power supply)? Anyway, there was a problem with the preamp and not the power supply and I managed to fix it (without the schematics).

EDIT: is there this module used?

Heh, they said the power supply is difficult to fix since some key components become obsolete.
If I send it to them they could "try" to fix it.

Can you post a photo of the power supply? You haven't answered whether they use Bang&Oluffsen modules, or something different. I repaired several BO modules with failed power supply.
I also wonder how they fix their amps if the key components in the power supply become obsolete .

I had the same line thrown at me on a different EA unit.

This one happened to also 'take out' the speaker.

At that point, the customer declined the repair.

It doesn't say Bang & Olafson on it, and I can't post pix from my phone, my computer is hosed at the moment.
                Thanks.
Do have B&O schems you could email for comparison?
If it's too much trouble don't bother.

I don't have any B&O schematics. I told you that I fixed the module without any schematic.
Here: ICEpower ? Class D OEM audio amplifiers ? Consumer & Professional Audio you can see modules that are often used in bass amps. You may have on of the modules listed on the page. Maybe it's ICEPower125ASX2?
