A lamp will work of course. I was trying to suggest that an LED would probably work too, just not going to result in the voltages on the drawing. But the goal is to vary the current so that the LED varies in brightness.

The schematic shows 3v on teh cathode atop that 500 ohm pot, but the pot more than likely is not set at 500 ohms, so if it were middled out at 250 ohms that would infer 12ma.

I couldn;t read some of the voltages so well, but we know the current expected by the voltages across R45, so we then ought to calculate what resistance the 500 ohm pot needs to be for that same current. But only to match the schematic, An LED blows all that out of the water and we have to tweak from scratch.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

I don't have R56 in this amp. It was removed and in it's place is a 1.9k resistor coupled with a 47uf @ 16v capacitor going to ground for 5 volts on the cathode.

Also, Currently i have the tremolo working. I ran a 150k resistor inbetween C24 and the LED + of the LDR to take the voltage down to 150vdc. The tone is still strangled on both channels though.

Could i be looking at an issue with the choke? Bypassing it made no real change in the tone, just a bit of added hum.

Does anyone happen to know the choke value they used? The part number is TF-3021H but i haven't been able to find any info online.

Have you taken voltage readings of the power supply? Is the voltage dropping a lot across the choke?

If both channels are weak, then the problem is likely in the power amp. Earlier on G1 asked how you tested the driver and output transformers, but you didn't respond. How did you "test" them?

My power supply voltages are all where they should be. I replaced the driver transformer with a known working replacement, and i jumpered in an output transformer from a Hot Rod Deville, which i believe should work.
