The few I see are JJ's, LCR, F&T. Anybody feel one lasts longer in the group. Or are there others to choose from? I've used many JJ's with no prolbems. Your experience?

On rare occasions I've used JJ's 4-way 500V cap. I recapped my pair of Dyna Mk II power amps with them in 2006. Still running perfectly, no problems. These have a larger diameter than the typical 1 3/8 and won't fit most cap cutouts directly, what a p.i.a.! I think they're 1 3/4 inch. In the Dynas, I was lucky: the cap diameter just barely fit sideways "below decks" inside the chassis, so I epoxied them in place there. It's possible they're cooler down there too, as they're not parked right next to a tube rectifier & pair of output tubes. This isn't the future I signed up for.

I switch between the JJ & the CE. I use the CE if the originals were Mallory, usually trying to get a 525V rating. There are some occasions where I have to sacrifice a section for the voltage, but usually stuffing an extra lytic in there somewhere else is easy, given that modern caps have shrunk so much. I use the JJs in New builds where I can choose the layout. The two-section JJs fit the cutouts in Marshalls, I think, but the 4-sections are as Leo said - larger. I have used F&T single section caps without issue for a few years, and have no reason to think the cans are any worse.
Now, what I <DO> wish they would do is include separate ground connections for each section, so I could series-connect the sections. Very often, a 500 or even 525V rating just feels a bit too close for me, SPECIALLY in Ampegs & Music Mans. That's why I usually end up having to cobble something together using individual axial-lead caps...
