  • Mesa noise

Trying to figure this out - Mesa DC-5 , lots of buzz/hum on rhythm channel--lead ch. seems ok

swapped out all tubes -- no change , noise is gone with V3 pulled , unplugging the reverb tank doesnt help

    verified grounds

does it with or without gtr plugged in , the master vol does kill it

i clipped in a good filter cap across each 30uf and the 220uf caps - no change ...

any ideas? ( i still dont have a scope)

the gain pot on rhythm ch is noisy , ive tried cleaning it to no avail

i can make a quick video if it helps

Mesa has a bad habit of mounting resistors over other copper traces.

If you see any that do, lift them up off of the trace.

There are a ton of those.....do you mean touching the traces? or just mounted above them ? I dont see any that are touching

          Actually touching.

          That is an issue.
