  • PMP5000 behringer amp/mixer resistor value?

I have an amplifier that I'm working one of the 10R resistors are bad. I'm trying to figure out wattage but having issueses with it.
    It says 310 -3 10R 5% P
    Behringer pmp5000
I know it's10 ohm but thats it.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    nosaj

How about a hint as to what you are referring to.

    Power supply?

    Power amp?

..and a component reference. Perhaps a picture too.

Is this one of those resistors that is in series with a 470p and placed between the gate a drain of the P-Channel output FETS?
Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

Power supply R11 on the behringer schematic for sps1000 now my board says sps1000/02) Schematic shows 22ohm.

I put a 5watt one in and with the limiter it still glows bright. Having 2 connectors going to the outputs plugged in or disconnected do not affect the limiter brightness. I'm going to pull the bridge rectifier and test it next.

The schematic you linked to is for the power amp. I have a schematic marked PMH5000 PSU but it's an SPS600.

No problem. Turns out I er.... had it all along anyway...

So it's the inrush current limiter. Tricky to size. Under normal conditions it barely even gets used. Under fault conditions all bets are off. My inclination would be to use a flameproof type and size it based on the physical size - if in doubt go higher power.

If your limiter is bright check T3 & T4.

I think Behringer upped the value from 10 to 22ohms.

Either way I would use a 7 watt.

T3 are and T4 are shorted. Tested out of circuit on a simpson 260. Any other possible culprits?
T25 on output board is also shorted possiblythe culprit for all this?
All onboard fuses are intact so I would gather that the fuses are after the problem?

                  Thanks,

Per closing a thread this one is left as is as the chips were cost prohibitive.
