Jet City are nicely designed & laid out amps let down by really cheap parts. It's not unusual for the footswitches to strip their threads when stomped on! They are a particular known weakspot.

I had the Combo version of this amp and it worked without the footswitch. I'd be looking to check that the relay or jack socket isn't staying open circuit when you pull the footswitch out.

Thank you...This amp has a mono 1/4 in connector and the jack of course is the same.......it is not a switched jack....it is just a regular open ckt mono jack like what is used in many guitars....unless somebody changed it out at one point....The schematic shows a mono jack as well.....the relay coils are connected to the hot side of the jack.....the other connection of the jack, connects to ground so when the plug is removed the jack is now an open circuit.....when you insert the footswitch plug, the circuit then gets it's ground connection through the footswitch....correct me please if I am wrong....Thank you for the tip on the footswitch threads....

The schematic shows a panel switch that parallels the footswitch jack. In any case, at least one channel should work without the footswitch being plugged in.

And by the way, this is one of those schematics that was drawn in Chinglish, where the input grid of one tube is drawn in the same symbol as the plate from a different tube. So it looks like the preamp controls are in a feedback loop on one tube.

Thank you for your reply...I just went and checked the amp again after reading your post...If there is supposed to be a panel switch, then it is not on this amp..
in the schematic it shows a switch, and LED and a resistor.....this is what is inside the foot switch housing....and when connected to the amp both channels are switchable....I had asked the owner about it and he doesn't know as he has always used the foot switch with the amp...he has never used the amp without it....I noticed that somebody here mentioned that these were decent amps, well designed but suffered from cheap parts.....I guess to keep the cost down....This particular amp does sound pretty decent.....but seems to need the foot switch connected.....I did send an email off to the company but haven't heard back yet......when I hear back from them, I will post it here....Thank you very much for your reply......

Yes it does...I just went down this morning and checked it out.......When there is no foot switch connected, the amp works with the overdrive channel.....if you want to use the clean channel, you must connect the foot switch...Sorry about the confusion.....I have it sorted out......The amp works good now.....Actually it sounds pretty good......nice and chunky when played through a couple of 15's...sounds similar to my 76 Marshall head.....
