I see that cap kits for an AB165 Bassman are available from Kendrick, Area51 and Torres. I'm interested in the kits including the filter, bias and cathode caps. Any opinions or experience with any of those kits? The Kendrick one is the least expensive and they don't state brand, so they may be distributing cheaper components. Thanks.

AFAIK Kendrick predominantly use US and German made (Sprague & F&T) electrolytics, these aren't particularly cheap.
The Torres kits I could see seem to include coupling caps & resistors, which may not need replacing per se, but would account for a higher cost.
Perhaps shoot the suppliers an e-mail and discuss the price difference?

Gerald Weber (Kendrick) takes a long time to ship IME. I'm in Canada so I get things slower than you guys to the south, but the fastest I ever got anything from Kendrick was something like 2 months, and I have waited almost 4 for pther orders. Except for Ampwares (don't get me started) Kendrick is the slowest. I usually get orders form other suppliers in 2 - 4 weeks, which is not bad for cross boarder.

Thanks, Oahu. I've used a couple of those suppliers for other things and have been happy with them, but I like the idea of being able to get a kit so I don't have to worry about missing something or misreading a cap value. On the other hand, I know that doesn't let me pick and choose what's in the kit. I'll probably wind up ordering from Mojo because I've ordered from them before and they're in my region of the US. Thanks for the info, and hello from North Carolina.
