Just curious, what resistance do you read between secondary wires?
I had posted that in post #11.

With all leads disconnected, measured 2.0 ohms between the two red secondary leads. Measured 1.0 ohms from the CT to one lead and 1.2 ohms from the CT to the other lead.

I asked again because situation might have chenged, since we are apparently dealing with an intermittent or a poor contact.

That said, IF you measure 60 something volts between ends, to simplify letīs call it plain or nominal 60V, AND you measure such low resistance, which is the expected value, THEN you MUST read proper 30V from center tap to each end, constant, not dwindling or diasppearing AND that transformer MUST supply proper voltage and current to that amp.

      Is that so?

If not, then thereīs something which has not been described properly.

Do you see where am I getting at?

To re re re re re check this contradicting data, and yes, Iīm asking again for some already made tests, just now should be made all in a single seating, so gremlins canīt act:

      1) measure primary and secondary windings resistances, all taps, all combinations, so we are certain we have solid copper all ver the place

      2) connect primary to mains.

      3) measure unloaded voltage at secondaries, 3 values in total.

      4) not sure whether the amp was working of not, just in case connect secondaries to bridge rectifier to filter caps ... do we have (nominal) +/- 40V rails ?

      5) connect amp to rails, do you still have proper rails? Just in case add a bulb limiter in series with primary.

      6) what about DC at speaker out?

      7) now connect speakers , do you hear anything, even slight hum, buzz or hiss?

      8) youch amp input with a finger, hear anything?

      9) plug something into amp and play.

      10) post results.
If any step fails, tell us.
      Good luck.
