    Use an ohm meter, I bet you will find continuity to the ground at the drive connector, otherwise there is no complete circuit.

      Yes it is connected. I'm getting confused here. It has the waffer between the tank wall and the and the jack. So when disconnecting the RCA from the PCB it isn't grounded. It grounds when connected. That's what's strange to me and why I have said the jack is not grounded. Still a bit confused

        I get it, now. It grounds at the pCB. But this definitely is the original tank with the ungrounded input jack at the tank.

          It doesn't matter HOW it gets grounded, it only matters that a complete circuit is formed, otherwise it is as I mentioned: like a speaker with only one wire to it.

          Bottom line is you fixed it.
          Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
