  • No trem in blackface deluxe reverb

Hey guys, maybe you guys can run me through the process on checking my trem circuit. Here is what i have tried so far to fix the trem.
I changed the tube to a known good one.
I opened up the chassis and viewed the trem bug. When i switched the footswitch on and off there is a light on however it seems kind of faint and not blinking. Hopefully, this gives you guys something to work with.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Mike

Check the cathode bypass cap for that tube.

      Hey Dude,

      Excuse my ignorance.
How do I check if cathode cap is good?
I'm guessing I'm looking for a certain voltage on pin 3?
      Thanks,
      Mike

Here's a schematic link with cathode voltages. You can check those. Those caps rarely short but dry out over time. Probably the best method, if you don't have a cap tester, is to temporarily tack a known good cap in there and see if it works- or just change it/them out. You can just clip a new cap across the existing one to test. This thing is old enough there is a chance that many of the electrolytics are past it.
