Core solid or stranded wire replacement on Fender the Twin ........ 22 gauge 600v???

    +1. That is a real reason some guys complains the solid is predisposed to broke. Is is very hard to broke a solid 22 even you try to pulled hard or smash it or bend it for many times. Unfortunately many strippers I found crimp the wires. Better to strip carefully with a knife and will be last at all abuses you want

      As long as you have sufficient "safety margin" in your wire gauge this doesn't amount to much BUT one must consider that moment when powering up, when the filaments are still cold. For a fraction of a second the current supplied for filaments can exceed 6x the average once filaments are warmed up. Not a bad idea to have some extra cross-section in filament supply wires so they don't overheat & become brittle after thousands of switch-ons.

        The tube heater overdraws for a second, but the wires feeding the socket will not heat much in that second. So what if the wire rises a degree before settling down? it just isn't an issue.

          So which wire should i buy? 600V, 22 AWG, 19 strand wire?
