  • Fender 4208 Mixer

Not much on the web for this mixer. Does anyone have a schematic or service manual? A 4212 or 4216 model would suffice. Mixer powers up and I can trace a signal into the mixer PCB but then lose it pretty fast without the schematic. Scoping the opamps I don't see any signal and think the power supply may be suspect. There are four bridge rectifiers but I have no idea what the outputs should be. If I had to guess, +- 25v, +-15v, 5v and ? The power supply CAP esr's check good. Thoughts?

First clean, check, or jumper any loop jacks or insert jacks. You may just have dirty contacts on switching jacks.

You can email Fender support, they will often send you the schematic.

I did that today, we will see where that goes. I've actually made some decent progress. The owner told me it didn't work. I started finding signals, turned around plugged it in along with an output and low and behold there it is. It ended up being some dirty pre and post EQ switches on 3 of the 8 channels.. One thing that has me puzzled ia the way this board is laid out. I think at this point I would probably benefit more from an operator's manual.

Just for everyone's info, Fender got back with me and said they had no information on these mixers. Luckily my issue was a simple one with the dirty switches.
