  • Traynor Smaill Block 500H

    Hello everyone.

I have this Traynor bass amp here and have a question about the buffering on the input stage.

It looks like a high pass filter of some sort but I can't figure out what frequency.

Could someone please take a peek and let me know?

    I've attached the schematic.

    Sort of.
    You have 2 nets there:

    1) input cap .033 and 1M resistor to ground: 5Hz , so just a DC separation, no effect on audible frequency response.

    2) the Op Amp has gain, (10k/10k)+1=2X
Then it has an added high boost: 18nF in parallel with 10k which starts rising gain above 880Hz and stops at 5X that (.018 in series with 2k) or 4kHz.
A classic bright boost, to give it clarity and definition.
