    Yep. I'd probably use a 22uf anyway. It's a standard value and close enough. It'd be silly to order a 25uf when I have 22uf sitting right here. (Should have said that earlier).

      with a 22uf 35v cap in place as a test I now have 10.8vdc across my 10w 125ohm shared resistor , 322vdc at pin 7 to grnd of el84 , 10.63vdc from pin 3 to grnd of el84.

        That looks about right. EL84 plate dissipation is around 12W.
