Picked up a pair of HR624 powered monitors. One does not power up. I expected having to replace C65 but when I pulled the chassis out I noticed someone already did that, from the top side of the board with the C65 legs sticking far out. C65 is a 63v 4.7uF
I also noticed that both 800mA fuses were blown. I replaced both of them with 1A fuses (I did not have 800mV).
I confirmed continuity from the C65 + leg, to ground and to R115, and the C65 - leg to D25 and the other side of R115.
I brought the power up on a variac and watched the current draw on an analog meter. There was no current draw. I want to say that the current draw climbed very slightly at about 50% power but then fell back to its resting point as I went above 50%. The amp still did not turn on and the new fuses did not blow. At 117 volts power, I can flip the on/off switch repeatedly and the current meter stays at zero.
I clipped one leg to measure C65; it read 4804nF, ESR 3.6 ohms, VLOSS 3.0%
Secondary of power transformer reads around 1 ohm from leg to leg. Primary jumps around on my meter.
The main board is not out of the chassis yet. Not sure what to check next.
Appreciate any help. Attaching schematic and photo. Thank you.
