Hi guys,
First post here - I've been lurking for some time so I know there's lots of useful information and friendly advice available.
I'm looking to replace the power filter caps in a Bugera V55 combo, but I can't find a 220uF / 350V cap that will fit. The electrolytics are all Decon brand, and the 220uF caps look to be 25mm x 35mm. I can't find one that's less than 40mm. I have found a 150 uF / 350V cap that is 18mm x 35.5mm.
I have attached the schematic of the power section. I measure 488V at V1, and of course half that across each cap, so I don't think I want to reduce the voltage rating.
So my question is, can I use the 150uF caps here? It's actually my guitar teacher's amp (trading for lessons), so I'm not inclined to experiment...
Or any other suggestions?
Thanks!
