  • Line 6 Vetta II HD V2.5 Factory models and defaults

If you've got a one of these with V2.5 installed you can help me rescue one from the garbage. The Factory defaults have got corrupted and I need to reload them. Line 6 no longer support this and are not offering this data anymore.

    This is what to do:
    1) Install MIDI-OX
To get a dump from your amp, you'll need to open the Sysex window in MIDI-OX, click Sysex->Receive Manual Dump..., then send the dump from your Vetta. To save the SYX file, click Display Widow->Save As..

    2) Dump model defaults : Press SAVE and turn to the DEFAULT DUMP page, then press SAVE again.

    3) Dump factory bank: Press SAVE and turn to the FACTORY DUMP page, then press SAVE again.

    4) Zip and post the files.

    And.. thank you
Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

Thanks Jason - I was already aware of both those. The FB folk have not responded to my request to join the group and r*dit doesn't have either of the files.

          I am confused.

Reddit shows the SYX and the VTF files as available for download.
Are these not the files that are needed?

Jazz, AFAIK The V2.5 firmware sysex is there but the Factory models and defaults are missing (the file name is there but there is no link). The vtf file could be made to work if you have an old PC with win XP AND a really old version of Line 6's Monkey ( that supports local files). I have neither. You'd use Monkey to load the vtf then do the steps I gave above to get the data back out the Vetta head.

What about a virtual machine? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=8002

              Archived Monkey versions https://line6.com/software/index.html

I don't have Win 7 either. I worry that a VM might give data problems loading the firmware - think driver nasties (shudder). The big problem with these is the firmware loads over MIDI with no error checking. If the download gets corrupted than you can brick your Vetta. That's also why I see using the vtf as a last resort as that loads everything. I have found an old XP machine I could use so that is the way I will go if my preferred plan in post #1 doesn't work out.
