Trace Elliot BUZ901 and BUZ906P alternatives

There are quite a few threads on this topic on here... seems like most are a few years old so maybe time for a refresh ... I can't find a source for the above mosfets for a 300W GP12 combo. They seem to be unobtainable at the big suppliers here like Farnell and RS. So I was looking at alternatives.

I see that the BUZ900 and 905 would almost do except that the Vds is 160v and I guess that is quite close to the supply of this amp - they are available and about Ģ8 each
I also found the ECX10N20 and ECX10P20 which seem to match the BUZ901P and 906P in terms of case, 200v, 8A max etc they look like a good candidate and a bit cheaper too.

However since I am not that confident with sourcing substitutes I thought I would see if anyone else has tried these or can advise on the important characteristics to consider.

Nowadays *all* are the same.
Exicon or Profusion (two sides of the same coin) manufactures the dies/chips, think 5x5mm or 6x6mm Silicon wafers conveniently doped and etched and sell them in bulk.
Then a third party buys those chips, plus empty casings, whether TO3 metallic or TO218/264 or any type they fancy (there are Factories manufacturing just that), plus some assembly equipment (miniature resistive soldering machines, injecting/sealing ones, etc.) and assembles and sells his own type/brand.
FWIW I might invest a few hundred thousand Dollars and launch "Fahey N200-16" and "P200/16" Audio Mosfets , IF I had that spare cash available , but way more important, a captive market which would let me recoup investment and earn money ... which is actually the hard part.
The point being that today you choose by *parameters* ; brand not meaning much any more.
Think choosing between budget entry level Gibson/Fender/Yamaha/Squier/PRS/etc. ... all made by the same OEM factory in Korea.
Exicon branded ones are "house brand", exact same chips but packaged by themselves, donīt think their guts are different from othsrs.
Thank God that at least Ļ*somebody* is making Lateral MosFets today.
I think the Market is very iffy, mostly repair/servicing of old stuff, I am not aware of anybody making modern designs using them .... except maybe some Audiophile oriented kits or very low scale Boutique production .

Which is a pity, at $8 each they are perfectly usable in production, very inexpensive.
Consider a good TO3 bipolar transistor is around $4 , no difference in practical terms.
