  • flat ribbon cable sources

I need to find some flat ribbon cable for a roland f-100 keyboard one is about 25in long 22 conductor and the other is a 16 conductor same lenght.

    It looks like this. https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/534...m-ribbon-cable
Someone put a screw partialy through the cable killing a few keys.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    nosaj

SO you need exactly what is in your link? That is the VERY flat stuff that ends in metal contact areas.

As opposed to the flat ribbon cable that is more like corduroy fabric, and has a connector on each end. That stuff is at Digikey et al. The real flat stuff is made to order for the OEM.

Depending on how many connections were murdered, it may be quicker and cheaper to just run some jumper wires around the damaged connections. If it's really mangled, that's another story.

Continuity test only one row was damaged in a section that stays flat no flex. So I repaired it taped it off and then secured the cable seems to be ok so far.

              Thanks
