    Duh! He did say that, didn't he! Yes, well all you are seeing the effect of stray capacitance. It's (almost) meaningless.
    Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

      The multitap transformer has a lamination gap that can be closed or opened by a set screw. This is used to get your operation in range. You still calibrate against mains freq each session.
      Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
