I didn't have to pull the board to do the recent work, but why would the bridge rectifier effect a squeal from touching the speaker? FWIW, I am going to replace the remaining filter caps when they arrive.
It's weird, because it WAS working fine.....

The BR has nothing to do with the squeal. It's simply a must-check item on those amps.

Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

When you touch the speaker jack or frame where are you standing? Are you holding a guitar that is plugged into the amp?

Your body can act as a high frequency capacitor, that will couple the input and output of the amp causing a feedback loop.

"When you touch the speaker jack or frame where are you standing?" Between the amp on the bench and the cab on the floor connected by a 5' extension cable.

"Are you holding a guitar that is plugged into the amp?" Yes.

"The BR has nothing to do with the squeal. It's simply must-check items on those amps." I just checked it, it looks fine.
