  • Crate Pa 800 Repair

Hi, new the forum here and have a question on my pa. The power cord ripped out and have green, black, and white wires but I need to know where they go on the circuit board. Dont know how to post pictures, but the 4 remaining metal tags to put wires on are a row of three with a white one in the middle, and one by itself to the right. Thanks in advance.

Really need a picture to understand better. Black wire is hot so it should connect in series with a fuse on the board. White wire is neutral and green wire is ground. Post a picture so we can help better as the way it's written is to vague and we don't want to guess.

      Also download the schematic here

Is the circuit not clearly marked with J1 or J5? It appears on the schematic that black wire connects to J1 and white wire goes to J5. Some of the Crate amps were labeled and some were not. The green ground wire typically is soldered to a tab and is bolted onto metal chassis.

Ok, seems like I had it right the first time. The black was wired in series with the fuse. But when I had it plugged in, it was on even if you had it turned off, and it was putting off very low volume with instruments and had a bit of a hum.
