  • Roland JC 160 fuse blowing

    Hi Guys I have a Roland JC160 earlier models it blows a fuse, I would like to know what might be the problem?

      What is your skill set working on amps? Do you have... Soldering iron? Digital multimeter? Are you comfortable working on the amp while it is powered up?

      Shorted output transistors or shorted mains filter cap can blow fuses. Faulty rectifier diodes can blow fuses too.

        FYI, the attachment in post #2 is a dead link (at least for me). Most likely shorted output transistors. I'd unhook the speakers until you verify no DC on the outputs and if you don't have one, build yourself a light bulb limiter.

          Did you get your JC120 from the other thread fixed?

            Also I have found bad rectifier bridges in a few different JC120's and 160's.

              Thanks for the reply Im not so clued up but I have been slowly learning I have an electrician that is been helping out and I have the same amp I will take reading as reference, from both amps...

                Yeah the problem on my JC 120 was the IC chip MN3002,I changed it and my amp is working good
