  • Supro S6606 speaker replacement

Need to find a little 8" speaker for this mint condition Supro S6606.
8", 4ohm but it has a small frame, not round so a regular 8" won't fit.

You guys know anyone who makes one?
    Thanks.

I found these, but kind of spendy. It's hard to find those in 4 ohms these days.

      Yeah, that's the correct frame.

Is there a name for that type of frame?

      Magnets on those look beefier.

      Thanks

Not sure what you call that frame, but I knew exactly what you were looking for because I'm working on an old 60's Gibson GA30RV right now and it has a similar 8" speaker in it. This one is 8 ohms, though.

Well it was the same price as an 8" Jensen so I bought it.

          We'll see how it sounds.

            ...... and you'll have a spare!

Edit: If it's too bright, you could always carefully cut off the whizzer cone.

Well let's see how it sounds first before we amputate or circumcise.

So there is so little clearance around it that the regular 8" won't fit? Or is it that the holes don't line up with a regular 8" ?

The speaker frame won't fit in the cabinet on the bottom, and hits the chassis up top.

                    Holes align just fine.
