  • SF Deluxe Reverb volume bleedthru

I have a 74 SF Deluxe reverb and the Vibrato channel volume doesn't turn all the way "off" . I still get a bit of volume when the pot is turned all the way down. The only way to get it off is to undo the jumper wire on pin 8 between the first two preamp tubes. Any ideas? I've already tried a different 1 meg pot and checked all the grounding strips. The normal channel works correctly. Thanks for any help!

Check for corrosion around the volume pot's nut and star washer. Clean and tighten.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.
REMEMBER: Everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school !

I had the exact problem on my BF Pro Reverb. I found that the previous owner - while replacing the volume pot - switched two wires. Check to make sure the wire from right tab (looking from the backside of the volume pot) goes to the middle tab on the treble pot. Refer to the schematic for proper wiring.
