How do you make a Simple load Tester

I saw on Utube a guy had a inputjack with a big gold colored resistor so he could test Fender amps..Every time I try to check my plates the sound of the speaker makes me jump in the air.Can someone draw a picture so DAB can make one

The basic idea is very simple. Replace your speaker with a big power resistor (mounted on a large heatsink) of the same nominal impedance as the speaker. Just search for 8 ( or or 16) ohm 100w resistor.

The Weber Tru Load will work for most tube amps (200 watts) and has test points for volt meter and an oscilloscope BNC output. If you need to load a more powerful solid state amp then you'll need to build one.

Neat but no heatsink means those 25W resistors can only handle about 9 watts.

To get the full 25 watts you need a 3.2C/W heatsink or just use for a minute or so and then leave to cool for a bit.

Thanks He must of got bugged alot and made this New video more detailed I just want to check my old Bandmaster out once in a while..And that pop made me jump in the air
