I saw on Utube a guy had a inputjack with a big gold colored resistor so he could test Fender amps..Every time I try to check my plates the sound of the speaker makes me jump in the air.Can someone draw a picture so DAB can make one

The basic idea is very simple. Replace your speaker with a big power resistor (mounted on a large heatsink) of the same nominal impedance as the speaker. Just search for 8 ( or or 16) ohm 100w resistor.Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

The Weber Tru Load will work for most tube amps (200 watts) and has test points for volt meter and an oscilloscope BNC output. If you need to load a more powerful solid state amp then you'll need to build one.
