I have a 50s Gretch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman 2x12 with power amp on the floor and preamp up top. The back panel does not appear to come off. There are two screws on ech side, but it doesn't look like the chassis would clear the speakers if dropped down. Does anyone have experience with getting one of these open? I haven't tackled it yet because it looks to be a sprawled out bear of situation, and I'm waiting for a time when I have a cleared bench to deal with it. It has the greatest tremolo I have ever heard.

I have a Gretsch 2x12 but another model, Valco made so most likely same cabinet. I got this as a cabinet with no guts, homemade valco of another model inside now, so i don't remember if i put the screws in the back or they were already there, this does use the wood blocks and chassis bolt screws are on the sides. The back has to come out some way but maybe you have to pull the chassis? Valco made amps have the model stamped on the bottom inside.
