    It changes the voltage from 1.2V to 2.4V.

    The amp draws about 330mA from the wall with no signal.

      That sounds about right voltage wise, but that mains current seems low to me. I could be wrong.

      What does current do through the various emitter resistors? Outputs, drivers, predrivers? Do the base voltages move on the later stages as well?
      Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
