    Replacing Q3 on a Peavey stereo chorus 212 (teal strip 89') it says 5951, is this a 2N5951 ? If so i have a few NTE312's I could use or maybe a J111 ? Is there something more suitable ?

    I just went through this working on a Special 150! Enzo straightened me out and pointed to this:

    However, I don't see 5951 in the chart.

      I found a 70405951 on there that does say 2N5951 but not sure if thats it, maybe he'll chime in

          Mind you though that I believe the pin out on these are different than the original ones that are listed in Peavey guide. Peavey has pin out as G-D-S and the fairchild data sheet on this web page above has it as G-S-D. Perhaps all modern replacements will have pin out variations from the original and you will have to bend the legs around to make it fit the design of the amp.

          edit: I think the J-111 would work but all the legs of the pin out would need to be bent around into configuration.
