Repaired a g-10. Working so i decided to put a 3 prong plug on instead of the old 2 prong. It was shocking u when you hit strings i was told. Repkaced the caps.(leaking and tested way out of spec). Working now but bad buz that goes up and down with the volume. New here trying to figure how to post a pic

Did you remove the death cap?

Yes caps are replaced. Unit works now but its buzzing when volume is turned. I may just put the old 2 prong plug back in.

I wasn't talking about replacing electrolytics. C12 death cap should be removed.

Dude asked if you removed the "death cap", which is C12 down in the lower right corner, from mains to chassis.

Does this hum occur with no guitar plugged in?

If you plug in a guitar, and turn its volume to zero, is there still hum?

If you plug in a guitar and play, does it hum still?
