No, five thin aluminum (?) Strips from inside the dialectric material and wrap go through a rubber insulated, the phenolic base and have the normal metal contacts crimped onto them with the ground strip crimped onto the bottom cap ring.

I should take pix so we all can see the construction.

Gotcha. I was thinking of the style with the fiber board end cap where the leads just went from inside to outside. Thanks for clarifying.

We could probably make our own if opened carefully like Mick.

I made a small one in school using two screws and a pick (polypropylene) as the dialectric.

It was small and dead on in value since I know the thickness of the pick.

Of course wrapping a multi-section might be trickier.
