  • Blackstar- bad input coil?

This one is a HT Club 40 MKII but the main pcb has HT Venue Club stenciled on it.

Input preamp doesn't match the club 40 schematics available, but using those as a guide the tip is shorted to the sleeve.

And there is no continuity from the other side of either coil connection to ground or the first preamp stage.

The input jack turns the bias on and off, and with a dummy cord plugged into the input jack, I can jumper a signal to the input cap and the amp works properly.

Thought it was a shorted 47pf to ground, but removing it the tip to sleeve shirt was still there.

I'll know for sure when I remove the input coil.

Need to do that at work where I have better gear and microscope.

Think I have some coils for RF amps that should work if it is the input coil.
