  • Mesa boogie heartbreaker No reverb

So this amp came in with no reverb. I check the tank and find one of the small wires broken off at the jack. Soldered it back in place but no reverb. I check the transducers and find one open. Change tank with a similar one, an ‘AB’ type. Still nothing. Changed the RCA cable, and again no verb. Now I start changing tubes and cleaning sockets and re-tensioning the sockets. No luck. Even though the transformer measures Out fine with the ohm meter I swap in a new one and still nothing. Oh forgot to mention the voltages are looking good. Got high voltage on pins 1 and 6. Got low voltage on pin 3 and 8.
When banging on the tank there’s the usual crash but not that loud.
The end of the input wire to tank there’s a hum when touched.
Tried hooking up a speaker to the input RCA cable, no sound.
I’m running out of things to check.
Can someone shed some light on this problem?

You could have some problem with the grounding scheme of the tank (fifth digit of the code). Many times, in Roadster, Road king and others, using Fender type tanks I have been forced to connect the grounds of RCA plugs to each other internally.
Without that connection these tanks (4AB2C1B, for example) don't work in them.
