    The rectifier is before the standby switch. Did we not determine this burns up only AFTER we turn on the standby switch?

    Measure resistance to ground from each point along the B+ - power off of course.
    Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

      Do you still have zero power tube grid voltage?
      If so, the bias circuit should be addressed first. Do not fit power tubes until you have sufficient bias. Missing B+ or screen voltage may actually prevent further damage with zero bias and tubes in.

      And please post a schematic so we all know what R64 means.

          R64 is the 400 ohm power resistor between plate and screen nodes in the B+ supply. Located on power tube board.
