Daughter Board/Interface Mesa M-Pulse 600

Hi All,

Happy new year! I was wondering if anyone on this forum knows the function for a daughter board on MP600 from mid-production era? A limiter circuit? I had the info at one time, but don't remember, since it was 10+ years ago. I'm not gonna turn the trimmer pot to find out, but had me curious when I valve-swapped recently. This board looks like an engineering afterthought and it links the rear panel connections to the main preamp with a ribbon cable.

Well, it's got an opamp, trimmer pot and a couple transistors...…
FX loop?
