Is my 5101 chip bad? MXR Delay

Got one of those old MXR 118 analog delay units, pretty sure the ultra rare Reticon R5101 delay chip is bad.

Unit has proper power supply voltages and clock

Signal input to the 5101 pin 4 is good, no outputs from pins 8 or 12

if I jumper the input signal pin 4 to the output balance pot R60 wiper, that signal goes through the rest of the circuit to the output.

I had it on the 4013 pin 3, BUT not on the Q output pin 1!

Oooh, so exciting, but do I have a 4013.

Looking through the bins at work, NO! NO 4013!
Could have sworn we had them.

So, dig through some boards......is that one? UGH! It's under confromal coating.

Scrape off the top, YES! A 4013!

Socket the board in case the chip is bad....and......SWEET looking clock on pin 1.

Look at the Delay only output.....wait for it..... SIGNAL!

Glorious delayed signal!


Sometimes just typing stuff out here makes my subconscious brain access knowledge jammed way down in the corner.
