    pbdog.....sorry this took so long to get back to you on this...I am in the process of re-doing my shop and everything was torn apart...finally getting it all back together. I checked my notes the other day and realized that the amp I was having issues with was a TSL amp, not a DSL....I looked at both schematics I have of these amps and the TSL has a "line/direct out" right off the output of the phase splitter tube just beyond the coupling caps. Those lines go through a small dc blocking cap (blocks the bias voltage) and then on out to a voltage divider to the line out jack. Sometimes those caps start to short out, dragging the bias voltage down and you can't get it to go where it needs to go. I don't think the DSL has this type of setup for line out. Sorry...i thought I had the answer for you.
