I think you're in the US? Caig deoxit is the favourite type there, there are various formulas available within the brand, maybe a US tech could advise? In the UK the electrolube brand is carried by the big parts companies.
The should be a small percentage of lubricant in the formula. You don't want to squirt in so much that the waxy lubricant builds up, especially around high voltage areas. Just a couple of quick blasts should be fine - Peter

Tried the cleaner, still not working. I also noticed the volume change with the patch connected to the fx loop? Perhaps there is something else going on?

Oh dear, back to square 1. Does it occur on all channels?

Does the setting of the effects mix control make any difference ie totally dry or totally wet?
Does which master volume is selected make a difference?
Does re-seating V4 (pulling it out and plugging it back in) solve it?

I pulled V4 and reseated it, same issue, I also used master volume 2, same issue. I don't know how to use the FX mix?

FX Mix - if you plug a lead into the RECEIVE socket which isn't connected to anything at the other end, I think the fx mix control should act as a master volume control, with full volume at the dry end (fully counter clockwise), zero at the wet end (fully clockwise).
Try re-seating all the other tubes.
Do you have any spare good 12ax7 tubes? Try a known good tube in v4 and then v5 socket.
Any spare good EL34 tubes and a good multimeter?

Okay, perhaps I pulled the wrong tube? I pulled a EL-34 that was just above the V4 pot on the back of the amp, is V4 a pre-amp tube?

Sorry, should have explained, from the schematic v1 is the 1st 12ax7 and v9 is the end el34, they will usually be in a sequential line. V1 will usually be closest to the input jack socket, on the right I'd guess as you look at the back of your amp - Peter

Hi Sorry I know this is an old tread but does anyone have a copy of the schematic for the Dragon they can share? I have one in for repair and the schematic would help.
