multicapacitor disassembly

    here are a few shots of the cap can being disassembled, and the space i'm working with in the chassis...

    the original can was in the hole just to the right and up from the fan.

    i could run some wires over to the top left area, but i was worried about lead dress...

            Absolutely.Try squeezing caps into an old Ampeg that had a can cap.You should have no trouble getting them in there,should be easier than getting 4 caps into that can,no?Where the cap is isnt so important as where the cap is grounded.Thats why there is sometimes problems with the can caps, the preamp stage caps are grounded with the main power caps,and that can cause hum more so than where the cap actually sits.

              yes, for the experienced amp restuffer...

              i prefer to put things in where they were, to avoid changing things that are working.

                Fit what you can in the old can and compromise by putting what wont fit in the can inside the chassis.
