  • Ampeg BA-115 bias too high

Replaced the mosfets/drivers/zeners and checked all the resistors in line with them (all within tol). Put the meter across R-61 and the lowest it will go is 11mv. Schem says to set for 5mv. Do I have a resistor causing the issue somewhere still?

11mv is not too far off. If it was like 100 mv or more I would recheck things. Does the idle vary as you turn the trimmer? I've seen bad or intermittent trimmers. Did you get a matched set of FET's? I would check pin 7 of U3 for any DC. Check the emitter to base voltage of Q4 and Q1.

I did get matching parts from mouser. The trimmer does turn up the voltage, not right away, at about 1/4 turn it starts to increase it. The amp sounds really good. Its my kids bass amp, he says it sounds better than it did before. If 11mv isnt too far off, then we'll just run it. Thanks.

If the amp sounds good then I think your in a safe operating range. Usually SLM puts a (+ or -) range for idle. I don't know why they didn't put that on this schematic.
