Marshall AVT 100 Problems

The other day the overdrive channels 1 & 2 just stopped working on my AVT 100 combo. No noise was made but now I click the footswitch or push the switch on the amp to turn them on but it goes straight back to clean!
It's not my main amp but I need the thing for guitar teaching!!

Any idea's what has gone wrong?!

Unplug the footswitch. Does the problem remain?

If so, then check the button that takes you to clean. If it is stuck - mechanically or electrically - it might cause this.

I did exactly that mate and its fixed!
It's funny as I would of never thought of that!

If unplugging the foot switch cured it, then the footswitch has a bad switch in it or the wires are shorted together.
