  • B-52 At100 Head Repair HELP PLease!!!!!!!

Thank you If you are reading this right now!!! I am having dificulty with my amp head. It turns on and plays fine for about 5 minutes then stack kicks in and fuzzes the amp so that it sounds like it is going to blow up. I went to guitar center and got new tubes but the problem continues. I have no clue what could be happening if you have any ideas please help me!!!!

Well, let's look at a few things -

Does the fuzz change with the tone, volume or channel controls?

    Are the jacks snug?

Does that amp have an FX loop?

Are you comfortable with opening up the chassis and exposing yourself to the risks inherent with using a voltmeter around genuinely lethal voltages?

Ok so the fuzz is more of a crack and the amp just project no noise but the crackle and staic. on the over drive channel andit does it wearther volume is high or low

i am tighting the jacks now but they are pretty snug

It has an loop in the back but i am not running pedals threw it right now

      And maby.

      Thanks

So it only does this on the OD channel and not the other(s)?

Can you switch to the other channel(s) when it's doing this?

It may be worth trying a short, known-good cable from the FX send to FX return to see if there are dirty switching contacts in there.
